Mail Quota
Solution to: Bounced emails
Solution to: Slow webmail performance
Solution to: Keeping your mailbox free from errors
Enrolled students are allocated 1GB of email storage and staff 4GB for their mailbox. This is a significant amount of storage and should be more than enough for even the most disorganised inbox. However, if you suspect your inbox is full, then there are ways to check how much you are using. Students who have left are allocated 100MB only.
There are three ways to check your mail quota.
On a PC
Launch the Mozilla email client (the Read Email icon on the desktop) and log into your email. Right click on your inbox and click Properties. Click on the Quota tab and it will tell you the space used.
You can also enable total emails and used disk space for each folder viewed in the folder list. To do this click on the folder view button in the top right corner of the folder list and tick Total (total emails in the folder) and Size (space used in kilobytes). This will enable you to keep and eye on usage in real time. If your inbox becomes too full then webmail performance will suffer to the point of being unsuable. Sorting email into folders will help make sure your inbox is kept trim.
On a Mac
Launch the Mac mail client and click on your inbox. Then press Command + I, or right click and click Properties. This will list many statistics about your mailbox
Via webmail
You can also see quota usage on the webmail page at the bottom of the folder list.
